Summer, Summer, Summertime

Happy Saturday and Happy Memorial Day Weekend. Who is already for it to officially be summer? Not that it doesn’t already feel like it. In the summer wearing dresses is my thing because they are so simple and easy, especially when it is extremely hot and humid outside. I am a fan of dresses that are airy and light, like this one dress in the post. It is super comfy and great for many occasions, such as work, date night and a get together with friends. I mean it is even appropriate to wear to church, it’s that versatile. Another reason I love this dress is because of the colors, pastels and neutrals. My summer accessories are a simple necklace, some hoops and sunglasses are a must. What is your favorite thing to wear this summer?

Skirt with Panels

Who doesn’t love a skirt with different panels or mix match fabric? This piece is a true winner in my book. It incorporates different textures and patterns to pull off a unique look. This color and texture block A-line has pops of color, polychrome faux suede, and tweed to create a different look to an otherwise boring alternative. The skirt is just fun! Especially paired with this ruffled off the should top. The movement of the skirt as well as the top make the outfit perfect for dancing (makes me want to learn how to salsa :). It is also equally good for date night, a fashion show, or a bachelorette party. Add some accessories and you are off! Honestly one of my favorite outfits I have shot to date. Blush Tones and Trouser Jeans

Blush tones are some of my favorite colors, especially in a cute top like the one I have on in this post. I have been told by many blush is my color! So…with that said I am only wearing blush from now on! (Just joking!) I paired this off the shoulder blouse with light wash denim trousers from RoxyNell. This brand of jeans is made from high quality denim and are custom to fit your body. Who doesn’t want the perfect pair of fitted jeans?? Accessories are a must to finish an outfit. Here I chose tassel earring with beading, a link bracelet, and a super fancy purse (which is by far one of my favorites). This outfit is perfect for date night or a girls night out this spring and summer.

Home is the Key: White House Black Market Ankle Pant

What is Home is Key? It is Habitat for Humanity’s national campaign to help address the nation’s rising affordable housing problem. Did you know that one in four households in the US pays more then 30% of their income for housing, leaving it very difficult to afford other basic necessities? Having affordable housing allows families to have more resources and live healthier safer lives.  Home is Key wants to unlock the future for many families this April by educating and partnering with people that want to help spread their message. So why not do your part?

There are many ways to get involved in this project, but one I want to specifically focus on in this post deals with shopping, of course! Chico’s FAS, the parent company of White House Black Market (WHBM), Chico’s, and Soma Intimates is supporting this campaign by allowing their customers to donate in each of their stores or online. Also the company has picked specific items from the stores that all the proceeds from that item will be donated to Home is Key during a set time. From April 23-May 31st WHBM proceeds from every Comfort Stretch Ankle Pant sold will go to support Habitat. These pants are super comfy, have great stretch (lets face it ladies we love a pant that has a little give), and the fit is excellent (true to size). I only have one pair, but I am thinking I need to invest in another, especially since it can help a family have a safe living environment and also because they look great with my cactus shirt! 🙂

In the Arts

Happy Friday! It is actually feeling like Spring today for the first time, and I couldn’t be more excited! What about you? I am so over the cold and snowy weather. Now that it has warmed up, what do you wear? Well for me its leggings of course. I love the faux leather ones, which are great for Spring, considering that in the morning and evening the temperature maybe a littler more chillier. I styled the leggings with a black tank, which is perfect for that afternoon warmer temps. I paired the outfit with a tan moto jacket to give it a little color. Added a couple of accessories and wedges and I was good to go. What are you wearing today??

Not Yet Spring

What is this weather doing? One day snow and freezing, the next day it feels like summer. When this happens it is hard to know how to dress. My suggestions is layers upon layers, it is the only way to get through the day. This transitional weather is just right for a thin leather jacket (which I like to call my going out jacket), paired with the right outfit its perfect. These faux leather leggings are my favorite and have been on heavy rotation during these colder weather days. With this layered look, I added a lot of textures, solids and patterns to the mix. When I pattern mix I like to stick to the same color or colors that compliment each other so it looks like a cohesive outfit. All in all this outfit is great to take from day to night. Transitioning to Spring with Pattern and Color

Some days it might not feel like it, especially with this crazy snow, but the first day of Spring is literally around the corner. I am looking forward to warmer weather and bright colors as you can see from my outfit. This Spring I am all about the bold solids and leopard anything. In my book leopard will always be a neutral, and this blouse compliments almost any bold color you can find. For this outfit I paired a yellow blazer with cream and gold details, with this leopard blouse. If that was not enough pattern and color I added a pop of red with a clutch and lipstick. Finishing the look with black leggings and spiked heels. This will definitively be a go to for the warmer weather. What does you Spring outfit look like? Shop mine below.

All Black Everything

All black everything is definitely a fashion statement, wouldn’t you say? I love an all black outfit! Why? Because black is easy, it is slimming, and it’s powerful. In my opinion almost everyone looks good in black, so why wouldn’t you wear it?

In this outfit I paired black faux leather leggings (which are amazing by the way), with a chunky knit sweater, and my favorite houndstooth coat to give it a little dimension. My accessories are a little different than usual, which I am excited about. I have on tennis shoes, or as my fiancé would say runners (it’s all about where you grew up). I like this mixing of casual with “fancy”. Topped it off with a hat. I usually don’t wear hats, but I am quickly learning to love them and may add some to my collection.

Coming In Hot!!

With this weather, who doesn’t need a faux fur coat?? I mean it is perfect! This coat is from Baciano, if you have not checked them out, you should! They have some stylish on trend pieces for everyone, from dresses to jackets to sweater. This faux fur coat looks great with almost anything. I paired it here with a black Agnes & Dora dress and tan knee boots. Let’s not forget the accessories, which can make any outfit. Sunglasses, earrings (that give a pop of color), and a clutch that compliments the necklace perfectly (which was a gift from my future mother in law, all the way from Australia). Baciano Jacket

Hello Monday! Does it seem to you that the weekend goes by too quickly? Like you need another day between Sunday and Monday? I know I am not the only one. Anyway…… something positive about starting a new week….is new outfits, like this one below. I am in love with this Baciano Olympic Classic jacket.
