Finally Fall

It’s finally fall and in some places it really feels like it in others not so much. Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love sweaters, boots, scarfs, and anything pumpkin. Are you a fall lover? One misconception about fall is that you can’t wear white. Well…that’s not true and these white jeans will definitely be on full rotation until at least November, if not longer. I paired them with an off the shoulder sweater, which is perfect for this time of the year since we have mild morning and warmer afternoons. I brought in some browns with the wedges and tote to complete the outfit. I am partially to brown and tan tones because they are a neutral and go with almost any skin tone. These colors are a staple for fall.
The funnest part about this shoot was it was like 90 degrees and humid, and I am over here preparing for fall content. That is what a blogger does! 🙂 Happy Fall Y’all! Shop this look below.

Home is the Key: White House Black Market Ankle Pant

What is Home is Key? It is Habitat for Humanity’s national campaign to help address the nation’s rising affordable housing problem. Did you know that one in four households in the US pays more then 30% of their income for housing, leaving it very difficult to afford other basic necessities? Having affordable housing allows families to have more resources and live healthier safer lives.  Home is Key wants to unlock the future for many families this April by educating and partnering with people that want to help spread their message. So why not do your part?

There are many ways to get involved in this project, but one I want to specifically focus on in this post deals with shopping, of course! Chico’s FAS, the parent company of White House Black Market (WHBM), Chico’s, and Soma Intimates is supporting this campaign by allowing their customers to donate in each of their stores or online. Also the company has picked specific items from the stores that all the proceeds from that item will be donated to Home is Key during a set time. From April 23-May 31st WHBM proceeds from every Comfort Stretch Ankle Pant sold will go to support Habitat. These pants are super comfy, have great stretch (lets face it ladies we love a pant that has a little give), and the fit is excellent (true to size). I only have one pair, but I am thinking I need to invest in another, especially since it can help a family have a safe living environment and also because they look great with my cactus shirt! 🙂

So join me and get involved by visiting Habitat.org/key and make a donation in any amount. Home is the Key runs through April 30. Every little bit helps!

In the Arts

Happy Friday! It is actually feeling like Spring today for the first time, and I couldn’t be more excited! What about you? I am so over the cold and snowy weather. Now that it has warmed up, what do you wear? Well for me its leggings of course. I love the faux leather ones, which are great for Spring, considering that in the morning and evening the temperature maybe a littler more chillier. I styled the leggings with a black tank, which is perfect for that afternoon warmer temps. I paired the outfit with a tan moto jacket to give it a little color. Added a couple of accessories and wedges and I was good to go. What are you wearing today??

Not Yet Spring

Shop: Jacket | Leggings | Blouse | Purse | Shoes

What is this weather doing? One day snow and freezing, the next day it feels like summer. When this happens it is hard to know how to dress. My suggestions is layers upon layers, it is the only way to get through the day. This transitional weather is just right for a thin leather jacket (which I like to call my going out jacket), paired with the right outfit its perfect. These faux leather leggings are my favorite and have been on heavy rotation during these colder weather days. With this layered look, I added a lot of textures, solids and patterns to the mix. When I pattern mix I like to stick to the same color or colors that compliment each other so it looks like a cohesive outfit. All in all this outfit is great to take from day to night. Whats your favorite all day outfit? Shop mine below.

Coming In Hot!!

With this weather, who doesn’t need a faux fur coat?? I mean it is perfect! This coat is from Baciano, if you have not checked them out, you should! They have some stylish on trend pieces for everyone, from dresses to jackets to sweater. This faux fur coat looks great with almost anything. I paired it here with a black Agnes & Dora dress and tan knee boots. Let’s not forget the accessories, which can make any outfit. Sunglasses, earrings (that give a pop of color), and a clutch that compliments the necklace perfectly (which was a gift from my future mother in law, all the way from Australia). How would you wear a faux fur coat?

Wifey to Be

Wifey to be….that’s me! Wedding prep is definitely underway and September will be here before you know it. Planning on doing a monthly wedding update here on the blog starting in February. So stay tuned!! Now on to this post…

Freezing temperatures and snow covered ground. Who is ready for spring? I have had my fix of the cold and I am almost ready to see it go. Although I do love cold weather clothing, this getting up and wondering if the roads are drivable is not idea. Anyway, I am loving this outfit I have on in this post. My puffy vest collection has been on full rotation during the cold months. I paired this one with leggings that have leather accents, my black wifey sweatshirt (which is most important), a leopard print scarf and tank, and ducks boots (which I am truly thankful for in this weather). What is your favorite snow day outfit? Shop mine below.

Playing Tourist

Playing tourist is one of my favorite things. Who is with me? This time I was playing tourist in New Orleans for New Year’s and Ben’s birthday. We did enjoye the local food, such as gumbo, red beans and rice, and jambalaya to name a few. If you want to taste some of the best local food try Mother’s Restaurant, but fyi there is always a line out the door so get there early. We visited the popular places such as Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, but what we really loved was Frenchmen Street. This is the place you want to go if you want to hear the iconic New Orleans jazz and blues sounds of the city. Plus more locals hangout there. You won’t be disappointed. If you are in the city I definitely suggest taking a swamp tour, or a Steamboat Natchez jazz cruise. There are waterways all over New Orleans. Also, don’t forget the biegnets at Cafe Du Monde. What are you favorite NOLA spots?

It’s Pretty Much Sweater Weather

Winter has definitely set in! Who is cold?? When temperatures are below freezing, you have to dress the part. How do you do that? An oversized cowl neck sweater is perfect, as well as warm, pairing it with leggings that have leather accents so the outfit can stand out. I accessorized with black suede booties, a leather cross body, and red lipstick to give a pop of color. How do you dress on you cold weather days? I hope warmly! Shop my warm weather outfit below.

It’s Winter

It is officially winter and although it might not feel like it, a couple days ago it did. Complete with snow! How do you dress when it’s a cold winters day? Well…..fleece leggings and over the knee boots of course. I paired these two pieces with a long sweater, a brightly colored wool coat and my favorite Scarab Beetle scarf. I finished the look with this hand-made leather cross-body that tied everything together. What is you favorite winter look? Shop mine below.
