Wedding Wednesday: The Before

Shop: Heels | Dress | Necklace

Happy Wedding Wednesday!! For the next couple Wednesdays I am going to be sharing wedding pictures from our wedding a month ago. On this post I want to showcase some of the before the wedding pictures, meaning the lead up to the day of the wedding. Including accessories and behind the scenes.

The wedding was held at the Kentucky Derby Museum and was a wonderful day spent with family and friends. Flowers were done by Country Squire and Photography by Jessica Bradford Photography. Dress was from Modern Trousseau Louisville. Hope you enjoy!

Bachelorette Party Dress

Shop: Dress (One, Two) | Heels | Lipstick | Bracelet | Earrings

Next month I am preparing to head to my bachelorette party in one of my favorite cities, NYC, with a few of my best girls. I wanted to do something a little different. I have been to Vegas multiple times and knew I didn’t want to go there. I am not a huge beach person, so Miami was out of the question (not because I don’t like water or sand, but because I am allergic to the sun, which is a pain).  I am a city girl and what is one of the the best cities in the world? NYC of course!

In anticipation of this upcoming weekend I am already planning out outfits to wear. The first one is this sequins dress, which is perfect for the party, and that is when I attend to wear it. This will be my going out dress. Comfortable, a statement in itself; it is a great dress for a night out on the town with the girls. I paired it with sliver heels and a red lip to give a little pop of color. Looking forward to sharing more of my NYC looks. Shop this one below!

Summer Shoes

Shop Cactus: Mules | Espadrilles | Wedges

Summer is around the corner! So what’s in your shoe closet? As you know shoes can make or break your outfit. With that said I am a fan of a statement shoe that can be worn for many years to come, as well as be used to accent multiple outfit choices. This is why I am rounded up some of my favorite shoes of the summer. Shoes from heels to mules to espadrilles, and many more. Everyone needs a couple of these in their closet. Check out my summer picks below. What shoes are you wearing this summer?

Skirt with Panels

Who doesn’t love a skirt with different panels or mix match fabric? This piece is a true winner in my book. It incorporates different textures and patterns to pull off a unique look. This color and texture block A-line has pops of color, polychrome faux suede, and tweed to create a different look to an otherwise boring alternative. The skirt is just fun! Especially paired with this ruffled off the should top. The movement of the skirt as well as the top make the outfit perfect for dancing (makes me want to learn how to salsa :). It is also equally good for date night, a fashion show, or a bachelorette party. Add some accessories and you are off! Honestly one of my favorite outfits I have shot to date. What are your thoughts?

Transitioning to Spring with Pattern and Color

Some days it might not feel like it, especially with this crazy snow, but the first day of Spring is literally around the corner. I am looking forward to warmer weather and bright colors as you can see from my outfit. This Spring I am all about the bold solids and leopard anything. In my book leopard will always be a neutral, and this blouse compliments almost any bold color you can find. For this outfit I paired a yellow blazer with cream and gold details, with this leopard blouse. If that was not enough pattern and color I added a pop of red with a clutch and lipstick. Finishing the look with black leggings and spiked heels. This will definitively be a go to for the warmer weather. What does you Spring outfit look like? Shop mine below.

That Blue Dress

Happy Tuesday! How was your weekend? Mine was great! Spent sometime in Wisconsin for a wedding. The weather and scenery were beautiful there, not to mention the lake I got to look at everyday (Pearl Lake). Also, not to be a dream taker, but soon it will change to fall like weather, so I thought I should take advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures and wear above the knee dresses with bare legs.

I paired this navy dress with nude heels and accessorized with a bright beaded belt. I finish the outfit with this gorgeous clutch/ cross body, gold jewelry and topped it off with a bold orange lip (basically saying I am ready for fall). I think this outfit is perfect for a wedding, going out with the girls or a business meeting. I consider it comfortable, yet stylish.

Fall Fashion Staples

Although many of us are not ready for Fall, it is around the corner! I can feel the chill in the air today! So I have rounded up some Fall staples that I think you need in your closet. A pair or two of skinny jeans should always be on deck for many occasions, here are two of my favorites (one, two). Booties are all the rage for Fall and what I am most excited about. I am definitely adding these to my collection and this pair is great too. If you are a heel girl, this pair has always been a staple in my book.

As the temperatures get cooler many love to add a wool hat. Let me suggest this one which comes in heather oat and charcoal gray. You are also going to need a scarf. These two (here and here) from the India Hicks Fall Curated Collection are stunners and will be conversation pieces. Use them to add a pop of color to an otherwise boring outfit.

Every girl needs three bags! Yes I said three. A crossbody for everyday causal to go with jeans, leggings and sweaters. The work tote to carry your laptop, planner, and files. And the going out clutch for date night and social events. See you need three!  You always need jewelry to dress up your outfit. A statement necklace is key. This one is a favorite. Every girl should have a pair of hoops. I like these because they can be worn day or night and they are the perfect length. I personally am a bracelet girl, so I love to have some arm candy. I am adding this cuff to list of purchases and I love this bangle as well.

What is Fall without adding a little leopard?? As I always say leopard is a neutral. I am loving this blouse, this scarf to jazz up a solid color outfit, and these heels. What are some of the things you consider staples in your closet? Shop some of mine below.

The Perfect Off the Shoulder

Temperatures are official colder so I personally think it is time to pull out all those comfy sweaters and add some layers. Just because you are wearing more does not mean that you cannot still be stylish. This off the shoulder sweater (found here) is right on trend for this season. I paired it with white skinny jeans, yes you can wear white after Labor Day, and  finished the look with leopard heels a leopard clutch. I added a necklace to this outfit to give it a pop of color. I made this necklace myself, but here is a similar one that I love.
