Dancing in the Street

Every once and awhile you find that perfect party dress and you know it! This one has me singing “Dancing In the Street”, and literally dancing. This dress is flirty and fun and no other back drop than the Brooklyn Bridge, would have done it justice. The all black, side cut out cocktail dress with ruffles is a show stopper and perfect for girls night or a fancy date night. I love the ruffles and the blue undertone. I accessorized with strappy heels, a multi-colored detailed purse, a red lip and gold jewelry.

Motivated in Brooklyn

Last week I was living my NYC dreams. This city is by far one of my favorites. I always get the sense opportunities are endless there. As I looked out at the vast cityscape and the Brooklyn Bridge it excites me! The energy is there and the motivation is there. It reminds me to not sit on my dreams and help others to reach their’s too.

The day was perfect for this bright yellow Zaful off the shoulder dress. It is airy, light and comfortable. Definitely size up because it runs small. I accessorized with a dual tone tassel necklace, navy espadrille flats, and merlot color lipstick. This outfit is perfect for the hot summer weather.

My NYC Style

When you are in the Concrete Jungle you have to create your own style. In a city where almost anything goes you want to stand out. So that is exactly what I set out to do!

For my NYC style I paired an inexpensive gingham print button down with a more “fancy” skirt. Pairing expensive and inexpensive is idea when building your wardrobe. I then added a fur vest to really make my outfit pop. I love to mix and match patterns because it makes an otherwise boring outfit new and fresh. With that said I added the leopard print clutch, which is one of my favorites. I finished the outfit with knee boots, a tassel necklace and red lipstick to give it an overall polished look.

I Want a Brownstone in Chelsea

Who doesn’t want a brownstone in NYC? If I ever really do live in the city I totally think a brownstone is the way to go. Now all I have to do is figure out how to pay for it. This is definitely a future goal. For now I will just take pictures in front of cute ones. When I was in NYC last week, that is exactly what I did.

While navigating through Chelsea and other great areas such as the High Line (A 1.45 mile linear park in Manhattan that is elevated on one of NYC’s old railroad), I was a total tourist and used the city as my back drop. If you are ever in NYC you must visit the High Line.

For my outfit while taking it all in, I went for the comfortable but put together look. It was great for the continuous walking we did while there. I paired skinny jeans with a gingham button down, and a puff vest, which is idea for the colder weather. I accessorized the look with riding boots (great for walking long distances, considering I was doing an average of 25k each day), a tote to hold all my gear and sunnies since it was a bright sunny day.

This was a great outfit to play tourist in. What is your favorite outfit to explore a city? Shop my outfit below.
