It’s All About the Floral

Spring is always about the flowers, right?  Who is gearing up for the warm weather to come? This girl right here, I cannot wait! What is more perfect then a floral maxi for this time of year? It is so fitting because the blooms will be coming soon. This dress is from Agnes and Dora, it is super comfortable, as all their clothing are. I would size down in many of their pieces because they run big. I paired it with a belt to give myself more of a waist, which I think compliments it well. The belt buckle is an A for Alli of course! I accessorized wth a matching clutch, which I love. It is one of my favorites, and the taupe color goes with almost everything. Finished the look with gold bangles, a red lip and peep toe sandals.

Holiday Look #1

Shop: Blouse |  Pants |  Clutch | Heels | Earrings | Bracelet (one, two) | Lipstick

It’s holiday time! So what are you going to wear? Let me help. From now until the holidays I will be doing holiday looks on the blog that are easy to recreate. Some casual, some dressy and some in-between.

My first holiday look starts with a simple black skinny jean or a skinny pant, something that we all have in our closet. I paired it with a cranberry or merlot colored silk blouse that has sheer cape sleeves. This statement piece is too die for and will be on heavy rotation this season. I’m pretty sure this color is the color of the holidays. I added leopard print heels for texture and flair. So if you are looking for a holiday outfit you can wear to work as well as attend a social function, after hitting the grind, this is my outfit of choice.

The holidays are coming do you have do you have your outfits ready? Shop one of my favorites below.

That Blue Dress

Happy Tuesday! How was your weekend? Mine was great! Spent sometime in Wisconsin for a wedding. The weather and scenery were beautiful there, not to mention the lake I got to look at everyday (Pearl Lake). Also, not to be a dream taker, but soon it will change to fall like weather, so I thought I should take advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures and wear above the knee dresses with bare legs.

I paired this navy dress with nude heels and accessorized with a bright beaded belt. I finish the outfit with this gorgeous clutch/ cross body, gold jewelry and topped it off with a bold orange lip (basically saying I am ready for fall). I think this outfit is perfect for a wedding, going out with the girls or a business meeting. I consider it comfortable, yet stylish.

Happy Saturday! I love and hate this time of year because you never know how to dress. It is cold one minute and hot the next, but I am not ready to let go of summer yet. So I am still somewhat dressing for the occasion. This look was for a casual night with the girls. Wide leg jeans are comfortable and a must to keep in your closet. I paired them with a loose fitting tank and accessorized with the cutest clutch (which you can find here). I also added a collection of my favorite necklaces (here and here), then finished the outfit with sandals and a pair of hoops.

Bright Summer Dress

As I soak up the last days of summer…..I always feel like I need to get in the outfits that I forgot to wear the whole season. This dress below is one of those items. Since I personally love a bright summer dress, this orange one had to make its way out of the closet. I paired this halter dress with statement earrings from 7 Charming Sisters, one of my favorite summer clutches (similar, similar) and comfortable flats. It was perfect for the 90 degree temps and having wine and beer on the patio of a busy eclectic restaurant with friends.

What else do you want to get in before our final days of summer are behind us??

Every Girl Needs A Skirt

Every girl needs a good skirt for summer. One that they can dress up or wear with casual pieces. I found my summer skirt, this light and airy blue is super comfortable. I paired it with a simple v-neck tee and accessorized it with a lot of jewelry. I love a statement necklace and I think this purple agate one, which I designed and put together myself, goes great with this outfit and gives it a pop of color.   I added my favorite leopard clutch to give the pieces some texture. Finished the look with mirror sunnies and a pair of tan flats.

6 Easy Ways to Add Color to Your Wardrobe

I love solids as much as the next person, but sometimes you need to add a little color to an outfit to make it pop. Adding a splash of color to a seemingly boring outfit is pretty easy. Below I am discussing six ways you can add color to your wardrobe. Most of which you probably already have in your closet. Hope you enjoy!

1. A Bold Blazer
Blazer are great for many things, but one reason I like them is because they come in every color. They look great with dresses, skirts, pants, and even jeans. So you will definitely get your moneys worth by adding multiples to your collect. If you are wearing a neutral outfit and want a huge pop of color blazers are the best way to achieve that. Go for bright colors or even patterns to break up the solid neutral of an outfit. Some of my favorite blazers are this one, I like this one here, and this one.
2. A Shoe with Color
A really easy way to add color to an outfit is to find a great heel that comes in a color other than a natural. Heels are something that are easy to throw on and can go with any outfit. Some of my favorite heels that have a bit of color are these ones, this pair here, and I really like these.
3. A Bold Lip
If you are a makeup junkie like me, this one comes easy and naturally. I probably have 15-20 given lipsticks in my makeup drawer at one time. Most are bold bright color compared to my limited collection of neutrals. A brightly painted lip is sure to add color to a monochromatic outfit choice. Find some of the lipsticks in my collection here, here, and my favorite here.
4. A Colorful Clutch
I have collected a fair few clutches over time. Many of them are bold and colorful due to the simple nature that they add something great to otherwise boring or basic attire. Why would you not sport a trendy clutch? If you are dressing for a function that your outfit cannot be too extreme (i.e work), going for a clutch with color is next best thing. Some clutches I would love to add to my list are this one, this one here, and my favorite here.
5. A Brightly Colored Scarf
Since Fall is around the corner a great way to add some color to your wardrobe is by dressing up your outfit with a scarf. For the last couple years scarfs have been the coveted accessory that women and even men have used to add a little something extra. Try adding a different color scarf to a solid colored outfit. Scarfs can range from different prices. This one here will not break the bank, while these two are pretty pricey but are super cute (here, here).

6.  Multi-colored Statement Necklace
We all have a jewelry box full of jewelry right? Well at least I know I do. Why not utilize it to add color to your wardrobe. Statement necklaces can be a great way to brighten up an outfit. Choose one that is multi-colored or one that is a solid. Jewelry and where it came from is a great conversation piece. I love to pick up jewelry when I travel as souvenirs to remind me of where I have been. I have this necklace I purchased in Spain in black, but the red looks awesome (here). I also liked this one here (which is similar to the one in the picture), and this here

Luna Shoes

I just recently stumble upon the Luna Shoe company, which is predominantly known among Spanish speaking people. This company just recently made their way to the US and you need to check them out. If you are a shoe girl like me you are going to love them.

They are so comfortable, well made and fit true to size. Each shoe is handmade in Venezuela. Luna has a variety of flats and oxfords to choose from. Their mix of patterns and colors are unique and can be worn with many different styles of dress. Such as pairing their flats with a dress or their oxfords with jeans or leggings. You can check out the great styles that Luna has here and see how I styled their red oxfords below. I have also linked my outfit details below. Hope you enjoy!

Dainty Jewell

Happy Monday All! Lets talk about the perfect tulle skirt. If you are a fan of tulle this polk a dot tutu is for you. It’s made for twirling.

This skirt from Dainty Jewell’s comes in two colors you can find the black one here. Dainty Jewell’s is a online boutique that prides itself on selling stylish modest clothes for women and young girls. They have some great pieces. You should definitely check them out.

I paired this tulle skirt with a brightly colored blue top and grey leather jacket. When worn with peep toe booties and a leopard clutch it gives the skirt a little bit of an edge but still allows the outfit to be modest. This skirt can be paired with many styles of tops to give it a different look. Check out my look below. I have linked some similar pieces. Hope you enjoy!
