Happy Wedding Wednesday!! For the next couple Wednesdays I am going to be sharing wedding pictures from our wedding a month ago. On this post I want to showcase some of the before the wedding pictures, meaning the lead up to the day of the wedding. Including accessories and behind the scenes.

The wedding was held at the Kentucky Derby Museum and was a wonderful day spent with family and friends. Flowers were done by Country Squire and Photography by Jessica Bradford Photography. Dress was from Modern Trousseau Louisville. Hope you enjoy!

Mini Engagement Session

Hi All! I cannot believe it is wedding week. I am working diligently to get everything finished by this Wednesday so I can enjoy the rest of the week with the least stress as possible. Wish me luck! Anyway, a couple days ago I convinced Ben to finally do a mini engagement session. It was well worth it. I love these pictures. We are planning to blow one of them up to poster size to use as our guest book, where people sign around the border and we frame it as a keepsake from our wedding. What was your guest book at your wedding? Check out our mini session below.

RingHero is you BFF for all of these occasions. It is a wristlet that keeps your rings safe and secure in a zipped pocket. Once you get engaged having your nails always polished is a must because everybody wants to look at that ring right? Zoya is the best nail polish because it is free of parabens, lead, formaldehyde, and many of those other nasty things you don’t want in or on your body. So Zoya is a healthier choice and last days without chipping; what more do you need? In this trio the colors are Jordan, Leia (which is my favorite), and Abby. I will definitely being wearing these all summer, especially to my bachelorette party and bridal shower.

If you are looking for something sparkly for your wedding day I have found the perfect pair. These Charles & Colvard Moissanite Three Prong Martini Studs will do the trick. The round Forever One moissanite earrings are delicate and will go great with almost any attire. They are 14K white gold, and have the diamond equivalent weight of 1.00ctw. Moissanite is one of the rarest minerals found in nature. Charles & Colvard have been creating moissanite for over two decades and I think they have perfected it in these near-colorless studs. The best thing about these is that they are offered at a fraction of the cost of comparable gemstones. They are gorgeous and definitely do not disappoint. I will be wearing these to my bridal shower and rehearsal dinner.

You have the perfect dress, now you need the undergarments. This Bali Lace N’ Smooth Body Briefer is just the thing for brides. It is a super soft lace that is breathable, but yet still provides as much control as needed. This body briefer shapes you in the right places and does not bulge. It has underwire cups that hold you in and allow support on your special day. Full coverage with hook and eye closures, which is exactly what I am looking for. The best part is that it is comfortable and you can wear it all day during your wedding.

Picking the Perfect Dress w/ Modern Trousseau

Who wants to go wedding dress shopping with me?? Picking the perfect dress can be hard but when you know you know. That may sound cliche, but it’s the truth. I tried on about 10 dresses but kept coming back to a certain one, and in the end it was the dress! There are so many to choose from like A-line, Fit and Flare, Ball Gowns…. to fabrics like lace and silk organza. It is easy to get caught up in the mix and like them all, but this is where your bridal stylist/consultant comes in to help you find that perfect one. I found my one at Modern Trousseau Louisville
Modern Trousseau is a couture bridal boutique that showcases the designs of Australian born, Callie Tein. I knew it was the perfect place for me considering I am marrying an Aussie. Modern Trousseau has Flagship Stores in: Louisville, Baltimore, Nashville, Charleston, New Haven, New York, and Savannah. Flag Ship Stores coming soon to: Charlotte, Cincinnati, St. Louis, DC, and Long Island. You can also see their unique designs in many other bridal shops around the US (find them here). At their Flagship stores, find your perfect custom made dress that fits your needs for your special day.
The easiest way to select the dress is to have a budget and an idea in mind. Obviously a budget keeps you from over spending and trying on dresses that you will fall in love with and cannot afford. So save yourself and your bank account the stress. Skimming through bridal magazines and online can help you come up with a couple designs that you like. This can narrow down the amount of time you spend perusing through racks of dresses, and it will definitely cut down the number you try on. Honestly the more you try on the more it muddies the water in your mind of that perfect one.
Leah-Terese that runs the Modern Trousseau Louisville Flagship Store was the perfect host for me and my guests. she worked with me explaining the different fits and fabrics, and helped me narrow down my choices, until I picked my perfect one.
There are many reasons why I personally loved finding my dress at Modern Trousseau. I remember about a year ago (before I was engaged) walking pass this shop one night heading to meet up with some friends, I stopped and looked into the window and was in awe of all the beautiful dresses and I thought to myself “When I get married that is where my dress will be”! When the time came, I was right! Modern Trousseau sets its self apart from other bridal boutiques because their dresses are custom to fit your body. Your measurements are taken and your dress is made from start to finish to fit you. So you are not buying a dress off the rack that has to be cut down or reconstructed to fit your body type. You custom pick the lace and color of your dress, you can mix and match from other dresses (the top of one and the bottom of another), and add a belt for a little sparkle until it is made into your perfect creation.
If you are a bride and looking for that one of a kind dress, let me suggest Modern Trousseau. You won’t regret it! You can request an appointment here.
Here is to happy stress free shopping because you will already have enough stress planning!
Disclaimer: None of these are my dress! 🙂 I can’t wait for my followers to see my perfect dress from Modern Trousseau, but not before the groom! 😉

Belts to add a little sparkle to your gown

Another reason why I love Modern Trousseau is because they put cute little messages on the inside of your dress. Mine will say Ben & Allison EST. September 2018

You always have to cheers when you find the dress!
