Rooftop Fashion

Morning Peeps! How was your weekend? Mine fantastic! A couple weeks ago I had a girls night with a couple friends. I don’t know about you but every once in a while when I go out I like to be cute but casual. Don’t get me wrong I love my dresses but there is something about a good pair of jeans and a blazer. I feel like it is an outfit that you can’t go wrong with especially in the spring because the weather can be a little iffy. Check out my look from girls night at the rooftop bar and restaurant 8UP. Hope you enjoy!

2015 Gallopalooza

It is that time of year again here in the Bluegrass state….Derby time!!! This means horse racing, bourbon and everything in between. In Louisville, the celebration starts 2 weeks before the actual Derby race which happens to be the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs (this year it is May 2, 2015). Check out all of the Kentucky Derby festivities here. One event that I went to last week was the 2015 Gallopalooza Collection Preview. If you drive through Louisville you will see brightly painted full sized fiberglass statues of horses in front of a local businesses or home. Since this is only the third time that kentuckians have been able to experience Gallopalooza, and we are not sure when it will happen again, I thought I should check it out.  Gallopalooza started as a way to beautify the streets, encourage local exploration, increase tourism, showcase local artists and generate civic pride. (www.gallopalooza.com). The project raises money to support Brightside, which is a volunteer driven and funded effort to beautify the city, and many other local charities. The past two time that this happen (2004 and 2009), the focus was mainly on horses. The artists added bourbon barrels and mint julep cups this year, as well as the horses. All the artist are very talented. Each has to apply and submit a design and see if sponsors would like to commission them for their work. There are also rewards and cash prizes that artist could win for their work. Check out my experience at Gallopalooza as well as my outfit details. Hope you enjoy!

This horse is my favorite because it is painted roses on one side and lilies (see other side in next pictures). These are both symbols of Derby and Oaks.

Doorway to Nowhere

Happy Monday Loves! Hope you had a great Easter weekend. I sure did. I finished a 10 mile race on Saturday (look out for my race post in the near future) and spent much needed time with my family on Easter Sunday. What did you do this weekend?  I hope something fun!
Well a couple days ago I got to do something I consider fun. I have aways wanted to do a photo shoot at The Heigold House Facade or “The Doorway to Nowhere”, so I finally got my wish. I wanted to shoot here because it is just a cool setting, which you will see below. I feel like it is where the past, present, and future kind of meet. To read about this amazing historical structure click here. If you need a great photographer in Louisville, KY try JCSS Photography, she does great work. Anyway,  check out my pics and outfit details below. Hope you enjoy!

Weekend of Concerts

Hello All! It was feeling a little like spring here in the Bluegrass State this past weekend and early part of the week. So I surely took advantage. How many of you are ready for spring? I am! The warmer weather came just in time for concert weekend. I went to two concerts in two days and was definitely exhausted, but it was well worth it. Saturday I saw Maroon 5 in concert. It was #Awesome. And Adam Levine didn’t look too bad if I say so myself. Lol! If you have the opportunity to see the show it is well worth it. Sunday I saw Prince in concert. Yes Prince! AKA the Symbol! Lol! Can I say he put on an amazing show. Probably one of the best. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity so I had to go. He was in one of our smaller venues and kept selling out shows, so he kept adding them. He performed four shows in two days. Not bad for a 56 year old! The reason he was in Louisville was because the drummer of his backup group 3rdeyegirl was from Louisville. A Price show is a must see show, so if he ever comes to your city you should so attend. Since the weather was so nice on Sunday I had to put on a dress and heels for the concert, right? Below are pics and outfit details from Sunday. Enjoy!

My Valentine’s Day Outfit

I hope everyone has their Valentine’s day/night plans already in the works. If not you need to get on it!! A couple days ago the weather was great and I decided to do an impromptu photo shoot with my Valentine’s date night outfit. I went simple this year. I paired a black tank and leggings, with a hot pink blazer. Then I added a touch of leopard with a skinny belt and heels. You can never go wrong with a little leopard. Check out the photo shoot and outfit details below.
