They pride themselves on using only natural ingredients, being save to the earth and animals. Sounds like my kind of products. One thing I do love  about Sky Organics is that each product comes with an ebook or postcard to tell you how to use it and what its benefits are. Some of my favorites from the collection are the Mango Butter and the Castor Oil. Check out my other favorites in my new video here or below.

Healthy Snacks

I usually try to be on a health kick, but sometimes it is hard with working full-time, blogging and everyday life. This is why I have to plan ahead in order to have healthy snacks and not be reaching for the easy convenient ones that have less nutrients and more calories. Below I am sharing some of my favorite and easy healthy snacks that you can take with you on the go.

One of my favorite snack on the go is trail mix, but I like to make my own. That way I know what and how much I am putting in my body. In my trail mix I like to add nuts. I am a fan of all kinds but almonds are usually some of the healthiest. I throw in some dried fruit. My new favorite thing to add is goji berries. Did you know goji berries is a super fruit and that they are a good source of vitamin C, A, and iron? I finish it off with a little bit of chocolate. Everything taste better with chocolate right?

Trail Mix Recipe

1 1/2 cups of nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans)
1/2 cup of dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, etc.)
1/2 cup of goji berries
1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips
Another healthy snack is green juice. I make this the night before and put it in a sealed container to drink periodically through out the next day. Fresh green juice will usually last up to 2 days at most. This is the simplest was to get in your fruits and vegetables. On the go I typically pour some in a mason jar and use a stainless steel straw. I really like theses straws because they are ego-friendly, reusable, and very durable. They make your drinks seem cold even if they are not. My favorite ones are these Alistart straws because they come in a pack of 6 with 2 cleaning brushes. If you know anything about stainless steel straws they are hard to clean, so the brushes make a big difference. They are also affordable and will not break the bank. Check out my green juice recipe below.
Green Juice Recipe ( 1 serving)
1 cup of Spinach or Kale
1 small Apple
1 medium sized carrot
1 lemon slice
Ginger (as much as you like I usually don’t measure this)
What are you favorite quick snacks on the go? I am always look to add more to my list. Shop some of my favorite accessories to make snacking easier on the go.

I am always looking for things that help me get through longs days and give me the energy to last all day. Coffee works well but only for so long. A healthier option that I have found is 100% Pure Organic Match Green Tea, which can be found here.

It can be used in many forms such as baking (breads, desserts, etc.), or put in smoothies and coffee to drink. You can add it to any baking mix for a boost to you recipe. I like to put mine in a smoothie in the morning (recipe below). Matcha gives you great energy that last for an extending period of time because it has an amino acid called L-Theanine. It also improves memory and heath with an Antioxidants called EGCg, which is known to have cancer fighting properties. One thing I love about Matcha is that it is a metabolism booster. Which many us will love after the holidays. You can get the specific Matcha power I use here. Try it out and let me know how you like it. I have also link many products below that have Matcha in them. Take a look. Hope you enjoy!

Coconut Oil Supplements

Coconut oil has been very popular lately. You see it on the shelves of any health store, usually your local grocery store or online. It can be found in a pill form or in a oil base. Coconut has many benefits in any form.

Some benefits are improved thyroid function, promotes heart health, and balancing out cholesterol. Coconut oil as helps with weight control by speeding up your metabolism. I have used both  supplements and oil based coconut oil but I really like supplements for everyday use. One that I like that is budget friendly is Good Health FX Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil Supplement, which can be found here. I have been using these for the past 2 weeks and I can definitely tell that it has helped with my dry skin and hair. Coconut oil helps improve acne and eczema. I take them in the morning when I get up and have noticed that it gives me a boost of energy as well. I would recommend the Good Health FX Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil Supplement because it provides you with vitamins that you need each day, such as vitamin E and helps combat many dryness problems you are having with your skin and hair.

Below I have link some products that have coconut oil in them. You can find the exact supplements I use here.
Hope you enjoy!

Addicted to LUSH!!!

So LUSH sucked me in……The other day while in the mall I ventured into the Lush store. I have been into the store one or two times but have never bought anything. I loved the smells of the products and what they stood for but I just wasn’t ready to commit until two days ago.  If you have never heard of Lush, I don not know who hasn’t, let me tell you a little bit about their company and why I love their products.
Lush’s core values should be enough for you to take a look. They pride themselves on:
1. Being NAKED! “When it comes to packaging, less is more”. All their packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic. They ask that you reuse the container or bring it back to the store. They also offer  a free Fresh Face Mask if you bring back five clean pots so they can recycle them. If that’s not a deal than what is?!?
2. Everything they make is 100% vegetarian and some even vegan
3. They make their products with the freshest ingredients possible daily
4. Fighting against animal testing for over 30 years. They love the animals!
5. Everything they make and sell is handmade to the touch
6. Ethical buying. Their ingredients do not cost the Earth. They are tree huggers. Which I love! 🙂
7. Charitable giving.
Check out their story here
Products I am trying now and LOVE:

1. Oatifix Fresh Face Mask- All Lush mask are made with essential oils, fresh fruit and veggies, deep cleansing clays and nutrient rich herbs. The Oatifix soothes dry and flaky skin with mashed bananas. This mask is for sentsitive dry or irritated skin. Lush has mask for all skin types. At only $6.95 for a pot that has five mask in it, it’s is definitely worth trying.

2. Buffy Body Butter- Exfoliating and moisturizing bar. This one is my favorite. The rough textures eliminate lumps and bumps and sloughs away dry skin cells to reveal brighter, fresher looking skin. The cocoa and shea butters keep your skin beautifully smooth, moisturizered and soft to the touch. Cost is $6.95, $11.95, or 22.95 depending on size.
3. Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie- They look like a body lotion, with a softy, creamy whipped texture, and yet they’re a soap. Turkish Delight is a rose scented smoothie. This specific one is particularly good for dry and sensitive bodies that need moisture. Cost is $34.95, but well worth it if you have dry skin.  It last about 3 months. Great for the winter months.
5. Charity Pot Body Lotion- With floral perfume of ylang ylang and rosewood oils in a hydrating cocoa butter base, this lotion is extra moisturizing. Not only do I love this lotion 100 % of the profits go to charity. Cost is $6.95 or $25.95. The charity that is on the Lush pot I bought is Earth Guardians. This organization empowers youth around the globe to create social and environmental change in their communities. Check out their website here. So donate to a charity and get an awesome lotion while doing it.
