Christmas Sangria

Who doesn’t love a good sangria? Make your own at home. It is super easy. Basically a bottle of your favorite type of wine and some fruit. Here is how I make my Christmas Sangria. Enjoy!

Christmas Sangria Recipe:
1 bottle of your favorite wine (white or red) I used a bottle 3 Buck Chuck Pinot Grigio from Trader Joe’s
1/2 of  cup of chopped Granny Smith Apples
1/3 Cup of Pomegranates
1/2 of a lime sliced
1/2 cup of cranberries
If you like a sweeter sangria add 1 cup of white, grape, peach juice

Dress for Success

The first thing people see when they first meet you is the way you present yourself. Meaning the clothes you wear,  the actions you display and the company you keep. This is why dressing for success should be a high priority. Looking your best allows you to feel more positive and could open doors to greater opportunities. There is no need to spend tons of money if fashion is not your thing. Just make sure you have a few statement pieces that you can interchange with one another. There will be a blog post about statement pieces soon but a few examples to get you started are a LBD (little black dress), a great blazer, and a perfectly fitted pair of skinnies. When dressing for success make sure you know your correct size and the right clothes to fit your body type. Instyle Magazine has some great suggestions on dresses that fit certain body types here. I want to end this post by saying that the way you dress can say a lot about you. People, especially employers, may decide whether or not to hire you or befriend you based on you appearance. Score those couple of points by dressing appropriately. Plus when was the “I do not care” look ever in style?

The past couple days I was at a work conference so I definitely dress for success with my #OOTDs

#WorldAIDSDay #WearRed

December 1 is World AIDS Day. So today for my #OOTD I wore red to support. “World AIDS Day is held on 1 December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day and the first one was held in 1988.” (http://www.worldaidsday.org/about-world-aids-day.php). Anytime I can bring awareness to issues that are concerning to all people I try my best to do my part. Visit the World Aids Day website to learn more and do your part.

Vintage Owl Necklace

Today I decided to wear my vintage owl necklace. I got so my compliments on it I decided to do a post. This necklace was given to me by one of my homemakers who is in her 70’s.  She told me she use to wear it back it the 70’s. She was not sure where she got it but new I loved owls and wanted me to have it because she hadn’t worn it in years. I love freebies! This just proves that everything comes back in style at some point. So don’t give away great pieces. Hold on to them to give to the next generation. What is your favorite piece of jewelry you have been given?

You can find a similar necklace Here. Scroll down it is the 7th piece on the site.

College Football Rivalry Week #OOTD

In the Bluegrass State it was the Battle of the Governor’s Cup. And it looks like the Cardinals will be holding on to it. Go Cards!!! And I want to add that I am a graduate of both schools so I was a winner either way. Who is your school’s rival?  When cheering on  your favorite sports teams you can always be fashionable. I paired leggings and knee boots with this buffalo plaid shirt from Old Navy and fur vest found here from Forever 21. Made for a great outfit that showed off the Card’s colors.

Black Friday or Thursday

So black Friday or should I say Thursday? What was your damage? I didn’t do too bad. Visited our local outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass and picked up some great finds at Michael KorsRalph Lauren, and North Face. Then headed over to one of our local malls and made a pit stop at Lululemon. And no shopping trip would be complete without stopping by Starbucks. Shopping hall post coming soon.

Happy Early Christmas to Me!! :)

So I am really excited about this early Christmas gift that one of my coworker’s husband made for me. It is a bourbon barrel bar. Yes an actual real bourbon barrel! It was spit in half and shelves were added to make it a functional bar or storage for bottles or whatever you like. I am a little obsessed with it. It’s awesome right? It will definitely be put to good use.

                                                       #ChristmasThrewUpOnMyFloor

Yes I already dragged out some of the Christmas decoration. I couldn’t wait! Could you? Do you have your decorations up yet? I love Christmas! All the decor and lights. I like to put it out as soon as possible so I can enjoy it.
