Liebster Award

pinterest, liebster awards
I started my blog November 2014 kinda on a whim, so I am new and still learning this whole blogger thing. I saw all these Instagram and blog pages popping up and I thought I could do that, so here I am, Absolutely Alli.  I am truly honored and excited that Limairy nominated me. Go follow her blog here and Instagram here you will not be disappointed. Thank you for nominating me and recognizing me as a blogger.

The Liebster Award is an award given to bloggers (with 1k or less followers) in recognition by other bloggers. Upon being nominated (tagged on Instagram) you have to answer 11 questions and then nominate 11 other bloggers (notify them through Instagramto answer the 11 questions and so on and so on. Below are the answers to my 11 questions as well as, the 11 bloggers I have nominated who deserve to be recognized for having amazing blogs and for all of the hard work and dedication that they each put into blogging. I admire all of you beauties and I am very happy to have you following along especially as we all grow as bloggers and I am also grateful for your support.

1. How did you come up with your blog name?
I came up with my blog name Absolutely Alli because one my name is Allison aka Alli and two I wanted to show people through my blog and Instagram the absolutely true me. So it was easy to come up with the name.

2. Why did you start your blog?
I started blogging because I love taking pictures and I love fashion. I saw that lifestyle blogging was becoming a trend and I was very interested in it. I have been following many bloggers on instagram and they inspired me to start my own blog in the hopes of inspiring others.

3. What do you love most about blogging?
I love everything thing about blogging. It is an outlet for so many things and is very educational as far as learning new fashion trends, healthy foods to eat, and even fitness trends. What I truly love is the fact that I get to meet new people I would have never met because they live in other states or even across the world. The blogger community is really a cool community.

4. What was the most ridiculous but very cool fashion trend you followed?
It isn’t a ridiculous fashion trend but the trend I followed this year was the blanket scarf. I love them. They can definitely change up an outfit.

5. One goal you wish to accomplish this year?
I have many goals I wish to accomplish this year with my blog. One is to get to 1,000+ followers on instagram. Two is to post more content to my blog and instagram, and three is to do more collaborations with bloggers and companies.

6. What is your favorite social media site?
Instagram, of course.

7. If you could travel to only one place this year where would it be and why?
I love to travel!! This summer I am going to Spain. I am so excited. Last summer I went to Barbados, and the year before that I went to London, Paris and Rome. Like I said I like to travel. 🙂

8. How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is usually cute but casual. I love a skinny jean! You can dress them up or down. And I always love a chance to get dressed up.

9. Spring or Fall fashion?
Both! But if I have to pick Fall because I love boots and scarfs.

10. If you could choose one store to shop at, your entire life, which store would you choose?

Well Banana is my favorite store but, if I had to pick just one I would go with Macy’s because I can get everything there (clothes, shoes, makeup, etc…)

11. What is one fear you would like to conquer?

One fear I would like to accomplish is to not worry about what other people think. Just to do “me” and be happy with that.

My lovely nominees are:

Brittany (Truly Be Iconic)
Christine (Concrete Runway LA)
Kathleen (Kats Fashion Fix)
Tabaitha (Humble Beauty 29)
Keyma ( Style Weekender)
Tiffany (Tiny Tiffs)

I am looking forward to reading all of your answers and seeing your nominations. Thank again, to Limairy (Follow her on Instagram) for nominating me for this award. Xoxo 🙂

Green Juice or Green Smoothie

Happy Saturday all! Hope you are staying warm and enjoying the snow if you received any last night. Any fun plans this weekend? Me….just hanging out with friends and getting organized for the upcoming week. Is it just me or do our lives seem to get busier by the day??? If you are like me then you are always busy and on the go. When you have a busy work and social life it sometimes gets hard to get in all the good and healthy nutrition that your body needs. So this is why I make green juice or smoothies to make sure I get enough fruit, veggie, and protein in my diet. Not only is it good for you it taste great too. Recipe below. Enjoy!!
   Yummy!!!!!
So making this delicious drink is all about personal preference. Really you find what you like and what taste good together and throw it all in the blender. I use whatever fruits in vegetables I have in my house at the time. You can use fresh or frozen.
Recipe I used today
1 whole banana
1 sliced medium apple
1 slice of a lemon wedge with the peel
1 cutie sliced orange
1 tablespoon of nut butter (Almond, Peanut, Cashew, etc.) I Use Almond

1 cup of fresh or frozen greens (Kale, or Spinach)
1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (I used Arbonne’s vanilla)
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 cup of coconut water or aloe vera juice
1 cup of ice

Check out some of the benefits of coconut oil here

ABC News did an article on the benefits and healing powers of aloe vera juice here

WebMds article on the benefits of coconut water here

What are proteins and why do we need them here

If you do not have the time to make green juice Trader Joe’s has a Green Plant juice. This is also a great option that taste good.

How to Add Some Flair to A Boring Sweater

Happy Friday! How was your week? Mine? It was pretty busy so I am definitely ready for the weekend. I started my weekend off with a little photo shoot to get me energized and ready. If you have big plans for your weekend how about pulling out a old boring sweater that you just cannot seem to give away and adding some flair to it?!? You ask “How can I do that”?
Well all of us have some of those plain basic sweaters in our wardrobe. How about adding one of this years top fashion item? The blanket scarf. Adding a blanket scarf can add flair to any outfit. Especially if it is a bright colorful one. Why not take it a step further and belt it with a skinny belt. This gives your scarf a cape effect and makes a statement. You can even get a little daring and mix patterns. My belt has polka dots on it.
There is no need to go out and spend money on something new when you can create new outfits by just adding a few details you already have in your closet. Enjoy!!

Addicted to LUSH!!!

So LUSH sucked me in……The other day while in the mall I ventured into the Lush store. I have been into the store one or two times but have never bought anything. I loved the smells of the products and what they stood for but I just wasn’t ready to commit until two days ago.  If you have never heard of Lush, I don not know who hasn’t, let me tell you a little bit about their company and why I love their products.
Lush’s core values should be enough for you to take a look. They pride themselves on:
1. Being NAKED! “When it comes to packaging, less is more”. All their packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic. They ask that you reuse the container or bring it back to the store. They also offer  a free Fresh Face Mask if you bring back five clean pots so they can recycle them. If that’s not a deal than what is?!?
2. Everything they make is 100% vegetarian and some even vegan
3. They make their products with the freshest ingredients possible daily
4. Fighting against animal testing for over 30 years. They love the animals!
5. Everything they make and sell is handmade to the touch
6. Ethical buying. Their ingredients do not cost the Earth. They are tree huggers. Which I love! 🙂
7. Charitable giving.
Check out their story here
Products I am trying now and LOVE:

1. Oatifix Fresh Face Mask- All Lush mask are made with essential oils, fresh fruit and veggies, deep cleansing clays and nutrient rich herbs. The Oatifix soothes dry and flaky skin with mashed bananas. This mask is for sentsitive dry or irritated skin. Lush has mask for all skin types. At only $6.95 for a pot that has five mask in it, it’s is definitely worth trying.

2. Buffy Body Butter- Exfoliating and moisturizing bar. This one is my favorite. The rough textures eliminate lumps and bumps and sloughs away dry skin cells to reveal brighter, fresher looking skin. The cocoa and shea butters keep your skin beautifully smooth, moisturizered and soft to the touch. Cost is $6.95, $11.95, or 22.95 depending on size.
3. Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie- They look like a body lotion, with a softy, creamy whipped texture, and yet they’re a soap. Turkish Delight is a rose scented smoothie. This specific one is particularly good for dry and sensitive bodies that need moisture. Cost is $34.95, but well worth it if you have dry skin.  It last about 3 months. Great for the winter months.
5. Charity Pot Body Lotion- With floral perfume of ylang ylang and rosewood oils in a hydrating cocoa butter base, this lotion is extra moisturizing. Not only do I love this lotion 100 % of the profits go to charity. Cost is $6.95 or $25.95. The charity that is on the Lush pot I bought is Earth Guardians. This organization empowers youth around the globe to create social and environmental change in their communities. Check out their website here. So donate to a charity and get an awesome lotion while doing it.
What is your favorite LUSH product?  I now have too many to name.

About Last Night…..

Last night I went to a Christmas get together with some friends. A little wine tasting, conversation and dinner. I always love getting together with this group of girls. The older you get the harder it is to find a time to get together with everyone. Do you have a group of friends that you get together with around Christmas to exchange gifts and conversation?
