I love some good accessories. I bought these multi-colored tribal inspired earrings from Work the Metal. I paired it with my Fitbit, my Michael Kors watch, and a glass bead bracelet that I made myself. The sweater is from the The Limited.

So this week I have really been feeling navy. This is the second outfit this week that has been navy inspired. Since it was a rainy day I had an opportunity to wear my navy Hunter rain boots. I always welcome a chance to wear my rain boots. I paired these with a pair of skinny jeans and one of my favorite sweaters. This navy and cream zebra print INC sweater I found at Macy’s. I love this sweater because of its silver detailing around the neck. It reminds me of a great statement piece that you would have in your necklace collection. I also added a navy Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. Finished off this look with me navy Michael Kors watch and some silver bangles. I think my London Fog rain coat added a little flair too. It is always great to go to the nail shop and get your nails done, but sometimes that is just not possible. If you are pressed for time, low on funds or just like to change up your color a couple times a week polishing your own nails is the way to go. Here is a quick and easy way to get a perfect manicure.
Steps to a Perfect Manicure
1. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails as a base coat or your favorite base coat
2. Gelous Advance Nail Gel Coat
3. A coat of you favorite nail polish
4. Second coat of Gelous Advance Nail Gel Coat
5. Second coat of nail polish
6. Third coat of Gelous Advance Nail Gel Coat
7. Last a coat of Out the Door Top coat
8. Repeat a coat of Gelous and a coat of Out the Door every other day for best results

So this Halloween I am keeping it simple. I paired this cute devil headband and pitchfork with a black and white sweater from Old Navy. Which is on sale right now. It is pomegranate season and this makes me happy. I love pomegranates. Not only because they are such a beautiful color, but because of the nutritional benefits. Did you know that pomegranates are low in fat, free of saturated fat, sodium free, and cholesterol free? If that isn’t enough to make you run out and grab one, then maybe the fact that pomegranates are a great source of fiber, potassium, and vitamins C and K will. They are also a good source of folate and copper. The one thing I do not like about them is deseeding them. So here is a easy way to deseed them without staining your fingers, clothes, and the rest of your kitchen.
Steps to Deseeding a Pomegranate
1. Cut the pomegranate in half with a sharp knife.
2. Fill a large bowl half way with water.
3. Place one half of the pomegranate in the bowl of water.
4. Start peeling the rind and separating the seeds from the translucent white flesh. The seeds will sink to the bottom of the bowl and the rind and flesh should float to the top.
5. Remove the rind, flesh, and drain the water off the seeds.
All pomegranates contains hundreds of seeds. These seeds and its translucent flesh are edible. So enjoy eating them raw or add them to your favorite yogurt, salad, or even juice them for a healthy drink.

October and November are two of my favorite months. Not only because it is fall and you can see all the pretty colors, but because it is all pumpkin everything. Did you know that a pumpkin is a squash and that it has great nutritional value that can help reduce the risk of some chronic diseases? Pumpkins are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted to vitamin A in our bodies. The NIH indicates that beta-caroteine may reduce certain types of cancers and protects against many chronic disease. Not only is pumpkin a very nutrient dense food the seed inside are also good for you. Pumpkin seeds are high in protein, containing 9.3 g of protein per 1 oz serving size. Pumpkin seeds contain 108 international units (IU) vitamin A, 0.5 mg vitamin C, 0.493 milligrams (mg) niacin and 16 micrograms (mcg) folate per 1 oz serving size. Pumpkin seeds are rich in minerals containing 12 mg calcium, 4.23 iron, 0.854 mg magnesium, 332 mg phosphorus, 228 mg potassium, 5 mg sodium, 2.11 mg zinc, 0.392 mg copper and 151 mg manganese per 1 oz serving size.
So eat up buttercup! Here is a great pumpkin dip recipe:
2 pkgs of 8oz. lite or fat free cream cheese
1 15oz. of pumpkin puree
1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
1 table spoon of cinnamon
1 table spoon of ginger
1 table spoon of nutmeg
Beat soften cream cheese and pumpkin in large mixing bowl until smooth. Add in Nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and sugar. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Serve with fresh fruit or graham crackers.
