Valentine’s Day Outfit Inspo

Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Do you have your outfit ready? If not let me help you with a little outfit inspiration. As you know red and pink are the colors for the occasion, but I usually enjoy them more as accents instead of having an outfit that is one solid color.
For this Valentine’s day outfit inspo I am loving a dress, so this gold and ivory one is perfect. Find a similar one here and here.  I paired it with my red accents, which include a blazer and a statement necklace. I finished the outfit with a little leopard print, which are my favorite pair of heels and this clutch. What is your outfit inspiration? Shop mine below.

Jack Daniel’s Savor & Share with Maureen Petrosky hosted by Whisky Chicks

What is your Whisky story? Mine is simple. I am from Kentucky and grew up hearing the words bourbon and whisky often, if you are from these parts you definitely understand. When I became of age and was able to drink, like most other college kids I reached for the beer and the vodka (this could be the fact that most undergrads know these are cheap and usually alway available). As I grew older my pallet changed and I began to appreciate the taste of bourbon, so it soon began to be one of my go to drinks. Insert the Whisky Chicks 😉 If you haven’t heard of them you should.
Whisky Chicks are a group of ladies of all ages (21+), who embrace the unique tastes of a good bottle of bourbon. They pride themselves on being libation liberators; meaning they help women appreciate and love cocktails that are outside of their standard girly norm. They are whisky educators, and friend facilitators. Whisky Chicks started over cocktails and conversation about how hard it is to meet other women with similar interest. During that conversation with founder Linda Ruffenach the idea of Whisky Chicks emerged.
Why do women love attending Whisky Chicks events?? From talking to other ladies at their events women love a place where they feel welcome to come by themselves, where they have an opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, a great place for professionals to network, and be educated on the different brands of whiskey the world has to offer. You always leave with knowledge on how to make a new cocktail, a new friend, or even a great idea. As many of us know most great ideas and business ventures start over cocktails. Whisky Chicks’ events are not only attended by females, males are welcomed too. Lots of husbands, boyfriends, and men that are interested in learning about bourbon have always been a fixture at many of their events.
Jack Daniel’s Savor & Share with Maureen Petrosky was an exclusive event hosted by the Whisky Chicks. Savor & Share is a collaboration between Jack Daniel’s and Maureen Petrosky. Maureen is a lifestyle Expert who has written books such as, The Cocktail Club and The Wine Club (find books here), a columnist for and, a chef, an event host and brand ambassador. Check out her website here. Savor and Share consist of a series of videos featuring cocktails, sample recipes for simple appetizers and easy tips for throwing a party. (Savor & Share Autumn Brunch video, Fall Fire Pit video)
This Whisky Chicks’ event did not disappoint. As soon as you walked in the door the attention to detail that the hostesses laid out was a whiskey lover’s dream. I mean who doesn’t want an elevator cocktail to start! Yes please! Sparkling Apple Sangria with Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel for the win. The night was filled with appetizers, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel tastings, great cocktails (especially the awesome spiked s’mores hot chocolate you will see below) and a little bit about how Savor & Share with Maureen Petrosky and Jack Daniel’s came about.
Ana Kornegay, Brand Director for Jack Daniel’s Craft and Luxury, educated the attendees on Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Whiskey. She says it is one to pull out for your favorite guest that you are trying to impress. This collection is made from Jack Daniel’s finest stock of whiskey, bottled in the smallest batches one barrel at a time.
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Whiskey consist of:

Pom Pom Fashion

These last couple of days have felt like early fall, so this floral bohemian dress (found here) from Pom Pom Fashion was perfect! Pom Pom Fashion has a everything from women’s dresses, to accessories, and even items for your precious pup. Check out their website here and use code: pompom 15 for a discount.

I paired the boho dress with gray leggings, added navy wellies and a jean jacket to match. Jean jackets are great to add an extra layer when temperatures are cooler. I accessorized with the India Hick’s Double O necklace, Casino Cuff, and the Big Zipper clutch. I finished the outfit with  sunglasses from Shop Ditto, where you can get a free month by using code: ABSOLUTELYALLI. Shop Ditto allows you to try on designer glasses and sunglasses before you decide to buy.
This outfit is an easy and comfortable go to outfit for mild weather. What are your favorite pieces for average everyday temperatures? Shop mine below.

My NYC Style

When you are in the Concrete Jungle you have to create your own style. In a city where almost anything goes you want to stand out. So that is exactly what I set out to do!

For my NYC style I paired an inexpensive gingham print button down with a more “fancy” skirt. Pairing expensive and inexpensive is idea when building your wardrobe. I then added a fur vest to really make my outfit pop. I love to mix and match patterns because it makes an otherwise boring outfit new and fresh. With that said I added the leopard print clutch, which is one of my favorites. I finished the outfit with knee boots, a tassel necklace and red lipstick to give it an overall polished look.

A blazer is all you need to take your otherwise boring outfit and make it stylish again. During the winter a velvet blazer is a must, find a similar one here. Not only is it fashionable, it can be paired with many existing items in your closet, such as a dress or skirt, and skinny jeans; as I did with this look. I wore a brightly colored shirt (similar here) and accessorized with leopard print heels, a tan clutch and a red lip. This is a simple outfit to recreate. Shop: Coat | Earrings | Scarf | Jeans | Boots | Tote

When you find the perfect coat you just go with it! Am I right? Every time I wear this coat I get compliments on it. It is a warm, yet stylish piece. Houndstooth is a classic look and can compliment almost any outfit. I paired this one with a simple pair of jeans, riding boots, and a leather tote. I further accessorized with a plum colored scarf and earrings, which made the coat pop. Houndstooth is a great pattern to hide or shadow areas of the body that you would like to accentuate less. This coat has been in my collection for years, but I will link similar ones here and here.
