Olive Shorts

Shorts | Top | Handbag | Jewelry (earrings, watch, bracelet) | Sandals (similar) | Lipstick | Nails | Sunnies

Sometimes you just have to be easy breezy! Meaning your outfit should be stylish yet comfortable.
Although I am a girl who loves a good reason to dress up, I do enjoy the times where my outfit can be  low key but still put together. I achieved this look by pairing olive shorts (found here), with an off white lace top (similar one here). I then added my favorite cross body handbag (here), tan flats (similar), and gold jewelry to match (earringswatchbracelet). I finished the look with a bright pink lip (found here) and a pair of tortoise shell sunnies (similar). This look is easy and can be worn as casual dress to hangout with friends or to run errands. A good pair of shorts are always great summer staple. Shop the rest of my look below.

You can use tassels earrings to accessorize any outfit. Dress up your jeans and tee with them or add a splash of color to a little black dress. They are a great accent to almost any outfit. Tassel earrings range from all prices, sizes and colors. I have rounded up many that are trending below. Some of my favorites are these beaded tassels ones here, or these multicolored ones here, this brightly colored pair here, and these ones here ; which are super affordable. What are your favorite tassels? I linked the rest of mine below. Enjoy!

Friday Five 6/24/16

Happy Friday All! Who is looking forward to the weekend? This girl right here is. I have not done a Friday five in awhile so I thought I should. Below I have reviewed five products that I love and think that you need in you life. Hope you enjoy.

1. Function of Beauty

Personalized hair care is here. A company called Function of Beauty specializes in shampoo and conditioner that is specially made for your texture of hair. I am surprised no one thought of this sooner. Basically you go to their website (found here), and you build your own hair profile. You add your hair type (straight, wavy, curly, etc.), hair structure (fine, medium, coarse), and then the amount of moisture your scalp and hair regularly maintain (dry, normal, oily). The hair profile will also ask you questions about your hair goals. For example, since I have naturally curly and coarse hair, my goals are to hydrate, deep condition, to have more curl definition, and strengthen my hair. There is a list of items to choose from. After you have stated your goals you then create your formula name, and pick the colors and scent of your products. My formula name is Function of Alli. Through their website you can also chat with a hair chemist if you are unsure of hair type and texture.

Function of Beauty came up with a great concept that is guaranteed to work with your specific hair type. All their products are free of parabens, sulfates, GMOs, phthalates, and trialclosan. Their products are affordable and ship free of charge in the USA. I tried my personalized formula and my hair loved it. The shampoo gently cleansed without stripping the extra oils from my hair and the conditioner add the extra moisture I need to combat dryness that leads to breakage.

Scarf  is from Hat Attack. Find it here. Similar scarfs here and here.

2. Pūr~lisse Skincare

I have tried multiple skincare products. Many of them are just ok. They do their job, but aren’t specular. One skincare line that I have been using lately that I really like is Pūr-lisse, which is inspired by Asian wisdom.  Find their website here. Their products are made with Blue Lotus; which is a powerful antioxidant known for its inflammatory benefits; White Tea, Lupine Peptides, Soy Protein,  and Seasilk. Pur~lisse protects against aging skin, so less fine lines and wrinkle. They do not use parabens,  petrochemicals,  synthetic color or chemicals, GMOs, or sulfates and phthalates. So their products are not harsh on you skin and work to create a smooth healthy complexion. Pur~lisse’s products are high quality and have healing properties for skin that needs a little extra tlc.  Don’t just take my word for it try their products out for yourself (here). Some of my favorite Pur~lisse products I have tried are: Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer , BB Cream, and Lip Nourisher. They also have some great mask the  Blue Lotus- White Tea Mask and Blue Lotus- Seaweed mask (find them here).

For every item purchased they give one headband to a child with cancer. Since April 2012 Headbands of Hope has donated headbands to every Children’s Hospital in the United States. They also donate 10% of their sales during their flash weeks to a charity that specializes in research to help end childhood cancer. 4. Lebice Ice Pops

Summer, Summer, Summer time! Who doesn’t love a good popsicle on a hot summer day? Even better who wouldn’t love to make their own popsicles? Especially when you can put whatever you want in it. Well you can do that with Lebice Popsicle Molds (found here). These things are great. They come with 6 popsicle containers, 6 reusable sticks, a funnel for filtering your liquid for little or no mess, and brush for easy clean up. It is super easy to use and basically fail proof. Also making your own can be way more healthy and cost effective.
Take your favorite fruit, along with your favorite liquid concoction to make an awesome popsicle. You can puree the fruit if you like a smooth consistency or leave it whole. Add all the contents in the popsicle mold and place it in the freezer. For the best results allow it to freeze over night. When the molds have set long enough to fully freeze you have a popsicle. To enjoy this easy and somewhat healthy treat you have to remove it from the mold by running hot water over the plastic for about 20-30 seconds and it pops right out. The hardest part is to decide what to put in it.
At you next adult party trying making your favorite fruity mixed drink into a popsicle. You guest will love this.
Find my bracelet here, watch here, and nail color here.

5. Moscow Mule Mug

It is Friday and what is on my mind is a Moscow Mule, but only if it is in a fancy dented copper mug.  This mug (found here) is from Kitchen Lifestyle, and can be used for a number of drinks. Since it is made from 100% copper it keeps your drink cold for a long period of time. It is the perfect portion size for any any drink and easy to hold because it has a large handle. The copper mug is great for summer cocktails on the patio or by the pool, and one of the best parts is that it is super easy to clean. Since I am from Kentucky I am partial to a Kentucky Mule. So switch the vodka to bourbon and you have yourself a Kentucky Mule. Find some of my other favorite mugs here and here.

Lisa & Lucy

Once upon a time you find the perfect dress! A dress the you can wear to many occasions and fits you like a glove.

I found that in this Lisa and Lucy Halter Peplum Dress (here). This white floral design is idea for summer. It is great for many social functions like cocktail parties, polo matches, girls night or date night. It is form fitting and shows off your curves in the best way. It is sexy without showing too much. I absolutely love a peplum. They are a great way to hide or disguise areas of your body that you are not comfortable with.
I paired this dress with bright teal shoes to give it a pop of color. Find similar shoes here and here. Makeup Monday: Summer Lipstick

One | Two  (color Heroine)| Three | Four

Can you believe it is the first day of Summer? Me either! I think summer is for bright lipstick, maxi dresses and cocktails on the patio. Who is with me?

Since purple is my favorite color, you know I had to wear it in a lipstick. This lip color can be found here (color heroine) Some purple or plum colors can be too deep or over powering so I try to stick with the lighter shades for summertime. Some I would suggest are this one here, this one and I really like this one. Purple lips are a great way to add color to your outfit.

Bright pink is excellent for summer. If you are trying to make a bold statement go for a bold pink, like the one above. Find the exact color here. Another favorite that I have in my pink collection that stays on great is this one. For a pink that will not break the bank try this one here. Having at least one bright pink in your lipstick bag is a must.

I personally think red is good in any season. It usually makes an outfit pop and your skin look instantly brighter and younger. Great for date night or if you are trying to be a little sexy. Find this exact shade here. Other reds I love are this one and this one. What is your perfect red?

Where are all my girls who love a good nude lip? Nudes are great for daytime and workwear. Find this color here. I think the hardest thing about wearing a nude is that you have to get the right shades for your skin tone. For medium brown skin tones I suggest this one and this one. What nude works best for your complexion?

Check out all my favorite summer lip shades below and suggest some new ones for me to try.

Gingham Obsessed

Gingham is a hot trend this summer.  It is definitely one of my favorite patterns, whether it is blue, red or black gingham, it all looks good to me. I love how designers are constructing new pieces and not just the typical gingham button down. Don’t get me wrong,  I love a good button down as you can see below, but I am enjoying  some of the new styles like this great dress here, or this off the shoulder here, I need to add this skirt to my collection, and this romper is super cute.
I love gingham paired with leopard. Especially my favorite clutch (found here) or a leopard belt (here). Two bold prints make a statement or if you are like me you agree that leopard is a neutral. Check out some of the top gingham styles below.

Let’s face it, the food that we eat is not givings us the nutrients that our body needs in order to live and sustain a healthy lifestyle. So the next best way to get all the goodness your body desires is to take supplements.

The supplements that I have been using lately is Vitafive. This company makes custom vitamin packs to fit your health needs. For around $1 a day Vitafive makes personalized gummy vitamin packs that are sent to your doorstep every 4 weeks. They are prepackaged in the amount you need for each day. Used code aa30 for 30% off.

Vitafive has eight different gummies to choose from,Vitamin  D3, Biotin, Vitamin C, CoQ10, Multivitamin, Calcium & D3, Omega 3, and Melatotonin. You can put anywhere from 1-4 vitamins in a pack. They also have pre-made packs, such as, immune, sleep, beauty, active,  essential, brain, and heart. Check out the pre-made packs here

I like Vitafive because they are easy to travel with. Just take the number of packs you need on a trip and their is no extra hassle. It’s easy to order and you get all the extra nutrients that you need. Vitafive offers free shipping and they have a registered dietitian on staff to help you if you need. And since they are gummies, they taste great and you do not have to worry about hard to swallow horse pills.

Benefits of Acaí

Acaí is a superfood that is packed with antioxidants and a whole lot of goodness. So why wouldn’t you take advantage of this awesome fruit? My favorite way to enjoy it is in an Acaí bowl, which is great for breakfast or lunch, and even a dessert. Check out the the benefits of acaí and a recipe for how to make an acaí bowl below.

Benefits of Acaí
1. Heart Health: high in the antioxidant anchocyanins, which lowers cholesterol in the blood stream
2. Helps fight harmful organisms in the body
3. Aids in weight loss.
4. Promotes skin health
5. Helps digestion
6. Reduces irritation associated with respiratory distress
7. Improves cellular health
8. Immune booster
9. Anti-Aging effects
10. Energy boost
11. Boost sex drive in (especially for men)
12. Improves mental health function
Source: here
Acaí Bowl
1 packet of frozen acaí berry
2-3 Fresh or frozen cut strawberries
2-3 Fresh or Frozen chucks of pineapples
1 banana (slices)
1 Tbsp of goji berry
2 Tbsp of granola
1/2 Tbsp of honey
In a blender add acaí, strawberries, pineapples, 1/2 banana. Blend till smooth. May need to add a few tablespoons of liquid (oj, almond milk, etc) to help blend easier. After blending place contents in a bowl. Dress the top with the goji berries, granola, 1/2 of the banana, and honey. I also like to add almond butter to mine to get that extra protein in my diet. I add about 1 Tbsp to the blender. Enjoy!
Make sure you have a good blender in order to blend to a smooth consistency and not have chunks of fruit. Some really good blenders are this one here, this one, and I like this one too. I have link many of the top blenders below at different price points below. Also If you have some acaí recipes please share.

Summer Essentials

Summer, summer, summer time! Summer is near and there are many summer staples that the stylish girl needs to get through the approaching warm weather. One important essential needed is a pair of statement sunglasses, for the pool and other outdoor activities. I am really love these sunglasses here and here.

Since I am a dress kind of girls I would definitely consider having a couple of dresses in your summer wardrobe. They are easy and many can be turned from casual daywear to a night look by just changing your shoes, jewelry, and lipstick. Two dresses I am digging are this one here and here.

If you plan on being poolside most of the summer than you need a couple pool essentials. One being the right swimsuit. One pieces are in and I am really loving the color of this suit here and the design of this one. With every swimsuit you should have a coverup. Really like this one and also this one here. No pool visit is complete without the perfect pair of sandals (here and here), a straw tote to pack all your goodies in (liking this one here), and a couple of great floats (this one is cute and so is this one). What are your favorite summer essentials? Shop the rest of mine below.
