January Obsessions

My obsessions have gotten out of control this month, but there is so much good stuff that is out right now. What were your January obsessions? Check mine out below.

Cat Lady

A little bit of red never hurt anybody, right? I love adding pops of color to my outfits. It is the easiest way to take your look to the next level.

A few days ago I shot this outfit featuring this tank from Vardagen, a small business that specializes in everyday streetwear. The exact tank can be found hereVardagen has a great selection of shirts, tanks, and sweatshirts for Men and Women so you should visit there site here. Designs that appeal to the everyday person, the adventurous hippie or the skater chick. I love a good designed tank because you can wear it with almost anything, like jeans, shorts, or even a skirt.  I chose to paired my tank with white skinny jeans and a red blazer. Adding red flats and bright blue earrings completed the outfit. Check it out below. I have linked similar items. Hope you enjoy!

Knight Life w/ Vardagen

Now that all the snow is finally melting and we may see a tiny warm up it is making me want spring to be here sooner than later. Who is with me? I did take advantage of the snow while it was here and got to sport my new snow boots that I got for Christmas and get in a couple shoots with the snow.

A couple days ago I shot this awesome sweatshirt from Vardagen, a small business that specializes in everyday streetwear. I am a big fan of chic unique clothing that can be paired with many different pieces in your existing wardrobe. Like this Knight Life sweatshirt, which can be found here. This sweatshirt is awesome. The fit is true to size and it is super soft. This one will probably be on repeat and become a favorite fast. Vardagen has a great selection of shirts, tanks, and sweatshirts for Men and Women so you should visit there site here. My Dream Workspace: We Work

Right now my workspace is not idea, but my dining room table serves many purposes. LOL! When I do have my own office space for my blog and other ventures I have plan to pursue it will definitely be a creative workspace. I already have many ideas for the type of office I would like, but until then a girl can dream, right?

I want my workspace to be clean and functional. Lots of storage is a must. Complete with a clothing rack so I plan my looks for my blog shoots. Lots of desk space with cute and colorful chairs and a chandelier. I love chandeliers. I would like to also set up a place to do video for makeup tutorials and clothing and product hauls. Having a creative workspace to help manifest what you are trying to project to your audience helps to keep you focused and organized.

If you do not have a workspace a great alternative is WeWork, a company that offers a shared workspace for people who freelance, run their own business or are looking to create a startup. Check out their website here. I have linked some great office needs and furniture below. What is your must have in a office? Hope you enjoy!

Valentine’s Day Outfit

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Do you already have plans? What are you wearing? This is what most girls, including me, worry about. I think I am going to keep it simple for Valentine’s Day.

Since my boyfriend will be out of town I will be celebrating a week later, but if I was going out that night I will stick with what I call comfortably chic. Black leggings or skinny jeans, paired with a black tank. To add a pop of color I prefer to add a blazer. The pink one below is one of my favorites, bought a couple years ago from NY&CO. I also like to spice it up a little with my leopard heels and a leopard belt. I am a big fan of leopard print. My collection of leopard print shoes are growing. I think I have like 4-5 pairs. Check out my look below. I have linked similar items. Hope you enjoy and have a great Vday!

Using Scales in the Kitchen

Many of us have the same resolution in the New Year. Basically to lose weight and get healthy. We go on diets start amping up our exercise till one day we just quit and we are right back where we started. I plan on trying a new approach this year. I have introduced a kitchen scale into my diet.

Portion sizes are one of the main reasons for weight gain. Many of us eat way more than our portion size when it comes to meals. A kitchen scale will help keep me on track and make me accountable for what I put in my body. This why I do not have to deprive myself of things I crave. It just allows me to be smarter about how much of it I eat and to cut back on my intake of unnecessary calories.

Below I have listed the recommend serving sizes for each Food Group:

Winter White

Who says you can’t wear white during winter? White looks great doing the cold months, so I say go for it. There is no since in having clothing in your closet that you can wear only a couple months out of the year because of some silly rule.

I am a big fan of neutral clothing because it is a blank canvas that you can add any color to. White jeans are a great staple to have in your closet because they can go with almost anything. You can dress them up with heels and the the right jewelry or wear them casually with a sweatshirt and boots.  Check out how I styled my winter white below. I linked similar products. Hope you enjoy!

At Home Workout

It is very hard sometime to get in your workout when your life is so busy and hectic. I would go a couple days with out making it to the gym and that would eventually spiral into a month. This New Year I decided that physical activity needed to be an important part of my lifestyle no matter how busy I am. So I wanted to find ways I could get my workout in at home even on my busiest days.
Below is some great workout equipment designed to make your at home workout easier. What is your favorite at home workout equipment?

This Yoga Stretch Strap by FiveFourTen (which can be found here) I use to stretch out my muscles before and after a workout. It is also great for difficult yoga poses and balance.

I use these Go Sport It Push Up Bars (which can be found here) to strengthen my arms and upper body. The bars are light weight, but sturdy so that you can have the perfect push up because it allows you to have less stress on your body. They have foam grips so they do not slip. One of the best things about this product is that they are portable so you can workout while on the go.

Lastly I use the Go Sport It Pilate Ring in my at home workout. You can find it here. This allows you to do your yoga and pilate sessions at home. You can target your lower and upper body with this ring and also increase flexibility and posture.  It is lightweight and portable so there is no excuses not to workout when traveling.

Winter Skin Care

My skin has been breaking out tremendously so I decided to do something about it. I have tried many skincare products. Some work some don’t. Lately I have been using a variety of products and I think I have finally figured out a skincare routine that works for my face.

Twice a week I give myself my own sort spa facial.  After I cleanse my face I use the Valentia External Youth Exfoliating Scrub, which can be found here . This scrub removes dead skin as well as, softens and brightens the skin. It is one of my favorite products and works really well. After that I use the Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask. This mask pulls out all the impurities in your face, reduces pore size, and tightens skins. I have tried a few clay mask and I like this one the best. It stays on for 10-20 minutes and leaves your skin feeling firm and clean. It made my pimple disappear by the next morning. You can find the mask here. In the winter when I am really feeling dry I follow the detox mask up with the Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask. I usually only do this once a week. This mask secures moisture, boost collagen, and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Not to leave out that your skin feels extra healthy and glowing afterwards. You can find the hydration mask here .  I finish my facial with the Valentia True Glow Eye Cream. It nourishes and hydrates the skin around your eye area which reduces wrinkles and tightens skin. Lets face it as we all get older we need this. The eye cream can be found here . Then lastly I add a serum. The one I been using lately and love is the Naturél Commodity Vitamin C Super Youth Serum. It is a anti-wrinkle serum that brightens, hydrates and adds collagen.  The vitamin C serum can be found here.  It gives your skin an added layer of protection from the sun, and drying wind, as well as helps keep the moisture in. You should always add a serum to your skin before adding your favorite moisturizer to finish off your facial. What is your skincare routine and some of your favorite products? Some of mine are linked below. Hope you enjoy!
